More suspension travel and will get a locker later on

Yours surprised me today. Maybe has something already.good driving. Suspension look at wkd off road. Some serious stuff and not a fortune. Locker will get you further than suspension. Well if it works which mine seems a bit hit and miss.
 
Locker Forget fancy suspension if you want a slight lift and better offroad performance just get longer softer springs £15 ea and if you want slightly more droop then plus 2 inch shocks if you go dislocation cones and all that extra rubbish you can spend way more than a locker and HD shafts for no real gain other than it looks fancy

That's were I went wrong I went down the fancy route rather than investing in a locker

thats handy to know think i just need a bit more travel as seemed to bottom out loads

A locker I on my list too. After a set of 24 spline axels. Long old list I've got!

I'll be glad when mine is on the road, bigger tyres are on my list but need to wire it up, buy 2 new batteries oh and put it back together. Then will have defenderdog1 look over it before its mot. At this rate will be about june.

Lee your front axle if its a genuine 10 spline early 90 is stronger than a 24 spline. If you buy ashcroft or even genuine (V Rare) 24 23 spline shafts.

The problem with 24 spline front axles is they have really weak inner CV's. 24 spline rear axle is stronger and disk braked

Main difference is shaft dia 10 spline smaller dia than 24 spline, also the 24 spline diff internals have some modifications to the cross pin and how it lubricates the gears on the cross pin.

Quick question for you Jai, if a disco 3.9V8 (no lpg) has this in the description

"Engine has a tap/knock hence being offered for sale as SPARES OR REPAIR Possibly a hydraulic tappet as vehicle has only covered 141 miles since December 2011"

Is it worth looking at, engine 76k miles, want it to pull the horse trailer about.
 
Tap or knock everyones description is different it could be anything if its cheap and local why not have a look you have a few spare engines kicking about if its got no oil pressure and its dead
 
I've trialled at Little Houghton Aka Billing plenty of times I guess this site is slightly furthur East past where East Northants have their pub meet
