Ok so I have taken off my front brake caliper to get to me wheel bearings and found out that my front Turret shock mount has split all the way up is seam, me thinks I hit that last mud run a weee bit hard and now it is fooked! shock seems to be attached but by no means securley. So tomorrow will be replacing that. Front radius arms will need bushes doing for its mot and I need to re attach the handbrake other than that the 90 is good Jai

Hey How much was the Compressor .. Im after one ....

L

£99.00 came with a pipe and coupling but these need to be changed to make it into a practical implement for tools. Windy gun ( I borrowed one from Phil) is available for £15.00 as i windy ratchet. The replacement pipe and fittings were about £17.00 locally. If you can't find one look for JCB compressors. Our local cheapo shop still has stock so let us know if you need to come up here for one!

sounds like you were lucky to get home at all!

s'been quiet on here today! Anyone been out, DB I hear you were in our neck of the woods this morning...playing?

Well... thanks to Kev and Jai, a shedload of luck and a little determination we got the wheel bearing out and replaced... discovered the other one's knackered so that has to be done... AND got the starter motor out. Servicing the Starter seems like a no no so another one is called for methinks.

Just to finish the day, Jai and Kev repaired a stricked 4x4 electric quad and sit in little car for jasmine. Three happy children as well as a good day on the disco.

Now for tomorrow!

Still can't believe some tit put ATF in the rear diff! wot a wally!

Came home after helping Ryder to my dad complete with blow torch, lamp, an old scraper and the plastic bumper center from his Dicso seems Landrover didn't take into account that when you fit Jate rings the bumper trim could touch the rope so he literally 'welded' with off cuts if plastic melted into the retrimmed and cut away center trim. It doesnt look to bad neither, Still was amazed that it worked i hung about for a bit to see if it turned out ok looks fantastic Jai

I would like to clarify here... I am not the tit in question... rather the previoius owner is.

Hi everyone, i've been busy today sorting out the SJ. removed the front axle and leaf springs, fitting spare axle and new springs tomorrow. Hope to have all the other work done in the next few weeks so i can get it in for a MOT, then i should be able to afford to get up your way and do some lanes.

A fine days fettlin yesterday. Fixed the Rangie in 10 minutes with a bit of help from my neighbour, it was the rotor arm. Had to put a pattern one on don't think it will last long, there is a small misfire already. Will have to see if I can get a better one in the week. Land Rovers don't seem to like pattern parts.

Ryder, no worries mate - now you know how to do the rear wheel bearings and at least when it's finished you'll know the axles have the right oil in them, should make 'em run a bit quieter/smoother.

Jai, I need to do some bushes and stuff as well. Will order parts shortly so I may be looking for a hand with pressing the radius arm bushes out/in - might get ambitious and do swivel seals as well.

Apart from that I think all is well and look forward to getting out and about again soon.

No problem Kev let me know when you need to do em, as I gotta do my fronts aswell

I went trialling today with my neice 16 and dad. My neice did really well, it being her firt time trialling and all, My dad decided to get through the mud hold that promptly got his mota well and truely stuck. Ok a quick tug out and its my neices turn. She wasnt getting stuck for anything, my dad was beside her egging her on (and a few Revvs and alot of mud slinging) got her through mabe a little too quickly. Before she had time she clipped a tree. OOPS! Her face was a picture. A new indicator lense will be required but she got a better score than my dad so **** taking all round!! P.s she beat him overall at the end of the day too. Me dad wasn't bothered about the light damage he was over just overjoyed that it didn't get stuck!! Me dads face was smiling all day! No real damage just a whole load of entertainment and fun and I wasnt even driving
Heres a pic:

I haven't to Whipsnade for years, was saying to Emma just the other day that we should go and have a look round and see what it's like now.
