Looks like a good time was had by all! Took my kids to a book signing by Steve Backshall today so they are happy bunnies!

I'm out of action until I can buy a new front axle, refurbish it and re-fit, might as well do my parabolic springs at the same time.

Was going to just buy a new stub axle, but it's £240:eek:

We are/am about to try and get CV's wedged into a series swivel housing. but that means custom shafts which is expensive but then its all strongish.

My little series has £500+ worth of front stubs Lol!

I spoke to Spitfire earlier, I have a plan, I'm not paying £240 to put on an axle that leaks like a sieve anyway. I'm going to buy another off of Fleabay and make one good one from both, changing what parts I need to, which won't include stub axles. I'll fit new seals and bearings throughout, new brakes, etc.
I'll buy a new set of free wheeling hubs too.

In fact I need to rebuild some older swivelhousings to put on the series while we use the later series III swivels to try and fit defender stubs and get the strongest CV's LR made in there. Depends how much machining/bushing modifying is needed lots of IFs but I'm sure we can suss it out eventually

So are you going to buy an older axle or try and get another the same? Axles go for cheap especially older ones Talk to your mate Dominic he said to me £30 an axle if I remove it and its local.

No, I've got my eyes on one the same as mine on Fleabay, it's only 99p at present. I've spoken to the bloke, it's got 11" twin shoe drums and it came off of an 88", so it's either a late one like mine or someone has fitted a 109" axle to it in the past.
