Hi all,
I've been reading posts on this site for a couple of weeks now and, against the wise advice of almost everyone I know, I went and bought a 2002 1.8 petrol freelander yesterday. As I was driving it back from the seller's place I felt vibration when I accelerated above 40 mph. The vibration stops when I take my foot off the gas and is not exactly horrendous, but it's definately there. I'm worried that this might be the start of something more serious, or that it's already something serious!

Sorry if this question is a repeat of something already posted, I've had a read through earlier posts but can't see anyone with exactly the same prob (though loads of Freelanders with vibration in different forms).

Can people please let me know if I've just bought a lemon? Can't afford massive repair bills!

Cheers
Dan

hi Lifeout,
thanks for quick reply. If it's a bent wheel then it would still vibrate when I take my foot off the gas no?

yes usally wheel vibs are in 20mph 40 65-80 but yes does it stop when u let off the accel
rec...wheel balance,,or tru test if it goes away when u let of the gasped use you cruise control to keep the vib at a steady ,,,,, then turn off if still there a wheel
