hmm, just refitted min today after doing the power steering pump and only had on box that connected to the bottom on the rear?? any pics or elaborate a bit more?
mine had that box i just mention which has like a spade connector earth comming off it, the live, and a thinner wire which leads over the other side

hi raz, i believe my alternator is a lucas a127 (?) at the rear there are 3 screw posts and as you are looking at the rear there is a small brown wire with a ring connector which fastens to the right, a thicker brown wire which fastens in the middle and a small white/grey wire that fastens to the left, from that one there is a loop of white/grey wire with a spade connecter on it that changes to a black wire with a black box on it marked 02-92 with a ring connector on it , there is also another one of these next to the thick brown lead, this one plugs into the alternator itself again its marked 02-92 with a ring connector. i believe that the white one is used to power my rev counted and i think the other one is a supressor of some sort.
sorry its long winded but i hope this helps a bit
