I have been stitched up by a garage with a Freelander 2 and am slowly sorting it out as all the issues are a tad expensive! When I stop and go to pull away, I get a big shunt when the car eventually decides to move! Every other gear is fine and smooth and it doesn’t always do it! It’s had gearbox flush with new oils and also a new rear diff today- we are all flummoxed as to what this is? Garage have suggested maybe a mount now…… seems to be a bigger problem than that??? Anyone else had this?

Sounds more like gearbox issue rather than a mount I would have thought.
Could you not return under warranty?

I will tell my garage to! I’m no mechanic just the poor soul paying the bills!! lol!

You don’t need to be a mechanic.
There is a fuse board in the boot, by the spare wheel. Pull fuse FB6 (15amp), which powers the Haldex ecm. Then drive and see if the problem is still there or not.

The Haldex kicks in briefly as you pull away, turning on AWD. You will then rule in or out the Haldex being the issue.

Simply renewing things like the diff will turn very expensive very quickly, and may not resolve it.

… in fact, I’ve just had my Haldex module fixed by Matt as above.
It was scrabbling at pull-away. 3 days later, module back and scrabble gone.

Great service and would not hesitate to recommend.
(In fact, when I spoke to Matt, he said if the fix didn’t work, I was welcome to send the ECU back and he would remove the modification and refund my money - can’t say fairer than that!)

HI Freddie.
I presume your valve was also ok then.

Yes - I sent it to Matt along with the ECU. He tested the valve prior to doing the mod.
Got the whole job (rear subframe and suspension/driveshaft renewals) completed yesterday and road tested - scrabbling has gone
Excellent just a case of enjoying driving it now then:vb-flippy:

This sounds like the gearbox to me. Pulling fuse FB5 will prove if it's the box or Haldex.
If it's the box, and it's had the correct fluid put in, and the level is correct, then I'd have the adaptations reset to default and see if the problem goes away.
