Changing the UJs on the lower steering column and am stuck.... And the lights fading.
Taken all the bolts out of the old UJs but now can't get the arm out... It's bloody tight in there too..... Am I missing something? Is there something else I need to take off in order to remove the lower steering arm?
My first job and its gone wrong

Don't be too hard on yourself, even the easiest jobs can turn in to a pain for the best if us.
IIRC you have to take the bolts right off those steering column UJ's before the clamps come off. I think it's that, there's something slightly odd about them anyway.
EDIT
I think the bolt acts like a woodruff key on to the shaft, so the clamps won't slide off until the bolts are slid right out.

I have literally taken the bolt out altogether....the shaft is ver loose and I can slide it with my hand back and forth but there isn't enough room for them to come off the splines... I'm pulling my hair out out.

If I remember correctly you have to knock it right to the extreme of the splines travel in one direction in order to disconnect it. I used a long wooden drift and a hammer last time.

I haven't got enough hair to pull out :(
Have you loosened the UJ on the box input shaft? I think you might have to loosen that one too. Although I can't remember having to do that @Retroanaconda might have hit the nail on the head there.

All done thanks guys.... Was a nightmare but with a bit of not so gentle persuasion, got it out.... Thank for your help. This is the old one one if interested.
Thanks again
