Hello can any one help please.

Work colleague's wife has lost keys to Land Rover Discovery 2 TD5 has got spare fob so we can get into it but no spare key to start so is it possible to take out of park into neutral on an auto box without the key in the ignition. Car is left in a public car park and obvioulsy he is worried about it disappearing overnight

Is that a no then or are you just be unhelpful, just trying to help someone not having a Landy stolen

If you're desperate to get it moved, especially at this time of night, best bet might be just to phone a breakdown or reccy company and get it towed home. At least it'll be safe until she can get a replacement key

i was going to mention that but thought that would be the first thing to do !

I have access to a pick up truck but need to know whether t will go in to neutral with no key to winch onto truck

could you not take props off for an easy fix !

That was a thought but would be so much easier if it would just pop out of park

put t/box in neutral then tow it

I no some autos have a hole to the left of the lever. If you poke a key In that then it releases the lock. Never been in an auto td5 so may not have one. But if its there... That's what it's for

it is on mine cant say for all of them the other thing you can do is slacken nut that holds cable to box lever (13mm spanner and push box lever back a click ,box lever is on lhs of gearbox
