Hi Guys, Never done this before, and I'm probably as ignorant as hell, I have a '94 Disco 300 tdi which is in the shop at the moment having no brakes due to a leaking front caliper, she's also leaking powersteering fluid which is also being sorted, the thing is she's also got leaking hubs, but we've been quoted an extra £125 +VAT just for the hubs, the rest is already costing £230 + VAT, what I really want to know is can leaking hubs be dangerous, or can I afford to leave it for a while, also, is it something that I could possibly do (with help of course), if it can be dangerous to leave it I'd rather phone the garage in the morning and tell them to do the lot, but obviously if I can get away with not spending extra, I prefer it, I hope some-one can give me some advice, thank you in advance

thank you Nathan, It looks like it'll be easier to get the garage to do it all at the same time otherwise I'll just have to undo what they've done, which seems rather pointless to me. Am I right in thinking that the leaking hubs can send oil over the brake pads which can then decrease the efficiency of the brakes?

I had a leaky hub oil seal on my disco and it covered the disc and pads and inside of the wheel with grease!

I'd definatly get it fixed.

Matt

Thanks for the help, phoned the garage and they're doing the lot, might have to wait an extra day to get my baby back, but at least she'll be safe :D
