In front of the gear sticks there is a panel, containing the cigarette lighter and switches for the seat heaters. For better access I turned the panel upside down to get the lighter out of the way. But, as usually, I didn't make a note of the wiring to the heater switches before I disconnected the wires. I looked it up in the wiring diagram, but that is a mess.

Can anyone tell me the order of the wiring? There are three wires: black, red and brown. The switches' three pins are marked 1, 2 and 3. Which colour to which pin, please?

if its original wiring, black is earth (switch illumination), red is live, brown is the out for the seat, however, it might help if you told us if its factory heated seats, or a retro fit, and if the latter, what switches you are using(or a pic of the back would help)

or a multimeter, USUALLY, 1 is live in, 2 is earth, and 3 is accessory, please dont just try this, without checking with a meter first.

Thank you! Being a newbie around a Landy (more accustomed to vintage Saabs) nothing is obvious. Even the fact that black usually is earth isn't always correct. In old Opels (sorry: Vauxhalls that is) earth wiring is brown. Will be back with pics.
