Do you have one of those manifold heat exchange thingys ,If its white smoke on acceleration chances are its that ,iv changed two on a transporter n a vw crafter ,Just a thought ;)......RR
 
A thick comment from me but have you tried an fuel system cleaner before take off parts as no harm doing this see if reduces the smoke?
 
Any lateral play in the shaft is a no no..

Was there any Oil in the compressor housing?
 
Ok so new turbo on no smoke from oil filler cap but did not get the chance to put the exhaust back on but did get a bit of smoke coming up from the back of the turbo but not a lot but did not have her running long and I have cleaned everything out I did put my fingers down the down pipe and did not get no oil on them just carbon so tomorrow I am spending the day doing everything I have to do on her and am hoping that I have solved it just going mad with it right now need her back on the road ASAP but need to make shor its done and safe 1 more thing the smoke today Stung my eyes a bit not a lot bit I am putting this down to not having the exhaust on what do you think
