Somebody mentioned to me that if the timing belt hadn't benn fitted properly, it could be making the disco sluggish and lose power? Anything in that u think?

get the tools and get stuck in, im 22 have never been shown how to fix car's and can now do most things, i done my head gasket the other day on my own for 1st time just with help i got from asking questions on here.Would love to have a go at some stuff myself, if I had the space, tools and the bravery!!!
it's true ......
but has yours ever run well while you have had it ?

Only had it a few days and it's been sluggish since had it. According to service book, cam belt was changed 4000 ago along with a service but this is written in pen in back of book and signed, rather than a proper stamp in service part of book with all the other stamps. So sounds a bit sketchy to trust and even if it was changed... I dunno if was carried out properly:doh:
i got the same problem i live in a flat, but luckily i got a mate with a drive-way and a mum who loves makin tea and sandwichesNice one... I will one day hopefully, once I get time, tools and a driveway.
Could be but that's something to look at after the airways and 'simple' stuff's been looked at and found OK.
Personally, if you need it done, rather than take it to a Landrover dealer who'll charge the earth, either try a local Landrover independant specialist, or better still take it to a diesel specialist.
A local one to me is called Sure-Start ... dunno if they're a National concern but they have a great reputation locally.
