hi everyone, ive got a v8 3.5 efi disco 200 series,i want to make sure that the engine ignition system is set up right on the plug leads and t,d,c.if you lift the bonnet and look at the engine straight on which bank is the even firing side and which is the odd firing side?ive gone to 2 different garages and the have said the opposit to one another.the problem is that she is missing slightly on load, when shes ticking over and running with just 2 people in shes fine, any ideas?many thanks gav

cyliders 2 4 6 8 are on the drivers side, 1 3 5 7 on the passengers side.

Start with the easy stuff and change plugs and leads first, while the plugs are out, do a compression test, the V8 is renowned for cam wear, also check all vacuum hoses to the inlet plenum and manifold and make sure there are no air leaks

hi mate, have put new plegs, leads, cap and rotor arm on today, ive also compression tested it and all cylinders are just under 10 bar,the cam is new as ive had 2 new heads and a complete top end rebuild,i have also cheked all the vacuum pipes today,i did try to set it up with the tdc groove at 12 o clock but number 1 piston was not on tdc, however when i set tdc up by the timing marks number 1 piston was up<i have spoken to someone tonight and they said they had the same problem and their pulley was put on wrong,i put every thing back together and she sounds great.what do you thing?
