I have a 2001 Discovery ES, it has front driving lights which are not working, on the dash there is a switch with a headlight with 2 in the middle this does nothing, an electrician has checked the connections to the lamps and there is no supply, we cannot find the fuse or relay for the loom to the lamps.

I have only had the car a week and this is driving me nuts!

try pulling the switch out, disconnect the plug from the rear, and with the ign on check if there is a supply, if so it's probably the connections to the actual lamps !!

More than likely a earth return !!
 
Have located the relays it is using the STC50039 wiring loom, I think the module that the multi plug goes into has gone down, there is also a faint glow all the time in the warning light on the dash switch, Does anyone know where I can buy the multi plug module from as I don't need the full wiring loom?

As these light don't make a blind bit of difference why bother?

My Disco has those lamps, and I can tell you (a) I never use them and (b) I won't be replacing bulbs in them. The main and dip are pretty good for all driving conditions.

Doe's it look like they have being fitted recently because if they have then they might need the body control unit (BCU) pluging in to the computer to switch on the fog light option because the BCU controls all the lights and many other options it is like if you fit cruise control then that option often needs activating.So if there is anything extra you want get,get it then take it to a land Rover independent garage and get them to activate the options you have fitted. Try putting Phillips Vision 80% Plus bulbs in, you might change your mind !!
especially dark country lanes, and off roading, they are nothing less than superb, and if I switch them off, it's like closing one eye (if that makes sense ? )

No thanks, I can manage perfectly well with the standard dip and main.

I used to say that about my calcium carbide and water acetylene lights too.

Hey, I can remember the ole Acety lamps, used to be on me dad's motorbike - or was it my Grandad :confused:

Anyway, it was a long time ago :D

A couple of lights not working is driving you nuts and you bought a Land Rover wow you had better reserve your padded cell now me ol mate!

And it's those stupid fog lights!

That is what cataloy and cans of spray paint are for.
Fill 'em in, rub 'em down, and spray 'em to match the bumper.
Never worry about them again - out of sight, out of mind.
