Hello everyone!

Thank you for letting me join this great forum!

My Husband has bought me a 2004 TD4 HSE Freelander and i love it! 2.0 diesel with 113,000, i don't care!

Leather heated seats, tinted windows, electric windows and sunroof, Harmon Kardon system with sat nav, always wanted a freelander and its finally mine!

When we bought it we knew the sat nav didn't work, it says "calibration ride not possible, no fix" If anyone does have any ideas on how to fix this it would be great or whether it may just be advisable to buy a new radio!?!?

Hubby has just come in to say that he was listening to a CD on the way home from work and its just turned over to the radio by itself! It won't pick up any of his CD's in the changer and also won't spit them out! (probably wants to eat up his CD's with his poor taste in music!!) Any Ideas??

Thank You

Shelly x

Dunno, but someone else might, but just so as you know- you have a Freelander 1 (FL1) not 2. Yours' like mine, is the facelift of FL1, the FL2 is a totally new car. ;)

As a Landy Loving Lady, im sure you'll be popular around here!

Anyway. Calibration ride is as details on here ; Freelander - SAT NAVIGATION SYSTEM NOT FULLY OPERATIONAL - GPS - Land Rover

If you unable to complete a calibration ride, im guessing that you haven't got a signal. Your GPS antenna is part of the base of the radio antenna (the one just above the middle of your windscreen). They are common for being snapped , corroding internally and in the connection to the aerial (accessible by removing the interior lamp unit).

Easy checks first :)

i got rid of my head unit with satnav and fitted a alpine with bluetooth for ipod connection. imo much better. a tom tom is cheaper than a disc update from landrover.

I bought a CD disc set off eBay. It is for a 2006 Becker unit. I could not get on with it. The Tom Tom is much simpler, and mine has traffic built in.

I understand that the latest disc is around 2008 or 2009. So getting quite dated now. No more updates available.

Cheers for that guys,

we tried that last night Vissie, it worked to a point, then when we turned off the engine and went back to it later, we got the same problem back!

So looks like i better get some overtime in at work for a new radio unit............Oh Hubby!!
