I am trying to replace the blend motors on my P38 and after battling for hours I managed to get the old ones out. Unfortunately when putting the new ones in I can't get the temperate blend motors to locate. The cog thingy sticking out from the housing is turned so far round that it will not match up with the blend valve on the dash ( I hope that makes sense!).

I have tried changing the temp on the HEVAC controls to try and get the cog to move but it won't. I have the book icon showing on the HEVAC control and don't know if that is what is causing the problem.

Can anyone help or point me in the right direction as I am now stuck with the car in bits

Hi, can you not turn the cog by hand to line up with the blend motor or turn the blend motor using a 9 volt battery to line up with the cog.

I have tried turning the cog by hand but is does not move far enough round to line up with the motor. This may seem a really stupid question but how do I move it with a 9V battery as will try that so that I can at least get the motors back in and the car put together again.

If you have switched on with motors plugged in but not in position they will drive to an extreme and stop. You need to strip them down and reposition the gears with arrows aligned and flat part of drive in line with long edge it is nearest to. DO NOT switch ignition on with motors plugged in unless they are screwed in position.

Hi yes motors are easy to strip and set up. I checked mine for free movement with one of the square 9 volt batteries before I fitted them.

Thanks both. I have now put everything back together and the motors are working fine. I still have to book icon appearing so will have to take it somewhere to get the code read.
