Hi is there anyone in the Bradford area who be willing to help me do a chassis swap on my td5 90 defender<
Never done one before and want to learn how to but its just alot to take on by yourself if you have never done one before? Obviously i would pay for the help as long as its not a rediculous amount.
Pm me or reply here please if anyone can help!

Cheers lee

Have you got a large garage to do it in? Are you planning on repairing or replacing any panels or parts? These and other factors affect the time it will take you. How long do you have to do it? What is your initial plan? Loads of help on here if you want to do it yourself. There are videos on YouTube of people doing body lift offs and chassis swaps. If the chassis needs swapping some body parts may need repairing.

Hi i have access to a large garage with a 2post lift as i plan to lift body off in one go! plus got access to an engine hoist etc, planning on replacing front and back shocks and springs plus brake pipes and also putting a new clutch in at the same time while engine is out and obviously replace all the nuts and bolts and was thinking of sat sun mon tue weds should break its back?

Its good to have a plan and what your expectations are. 5 full days? Depends on how many snags you hit. Grinding seized nuts off, instead of faffing on with them saves time. Is the bulkhead and tub to chassis bolt points solid?
If you're not expecting to repair/clean anything up, everything is solid when you get it apart and you hit no snags, then I reckon it's possible in 5 working days, especially if you do some research first. Took me 2 years and 2 months. Just depends on your expectations at the end.

Yes there all solid the tub was removed a few years ago for some work and so was seat box etc, if bolts wont undo al just take a sliting disc to them! still could do with some help assistance when i do it though!

Is there any landy men in Bradford or near who have done this or would help me with it?

Cheers lee
