Need some advice guys,

My wipers stopped the other day. When i checked the fuse it had blown so replaced and blew again. Now ive got the dash out and replaced the fuse to see what happens and the motors worked fine (blades off window). When i put the blades on window it slowed down and blew the fuse. Blades off window it has been working for over an hour now and all ok.

Any advice gents ??

Cheers
Adam

At a guess i would say your brushes are worn out, not 100 per cent if you can change them or just change the motor.

Update,

Looks like the motor is shot after all. I opened up the motor after posting the thread and the bottom bowl were the stator is located is burnt black oil and stinking. Looks to me like grease from the top end has gotten down the motor and caused it to burn out. Also the plate tbat holds the brushes is damaged.

Time for a new on.

Cheers lads

I've just replaced the motor and two wheelboxes on my td5 110 and I can honestly say its the best £150 I've spent (all genuine parts) my wipers were noisy and slow before and completely stopped a couple of times when it snowed. Now you can hardly hear the motor they clear the screen well.
