Hi everyone,
I have been doing some work to my old series 3 truck cab recently, one of the jobs i have been putting off is the exhaust, but given that the back box has become completely detached i thought that i really should get it sorted.
I ordered what i thought was the right exhaust, but when it came the front tube from the manifold down is completely different to the old one. i had already removed the old exhaust, and noticed that every part of the 3 pipes was riddled with holes and was in general very badly worn so there was no question i could reuse it.
I think the problem stems from the fact that the landy was originally a petrol, but was at some point (prior to my ownership) she has had a series 3 Diesel engine transplanted. part of the inner wing looks like it has been cut away to accomodate the exhaust front tube.
I have played around with both sets of pipes and tried to figure out how they should fit, but am getting no where, i know i probably need to order another exhaust (or at least front pipe) but dont want to do that until i am confident the parts i order are correct.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and does anyone have any advice on what parts i need and how they should be threaded through the chassis?!
Thanks,
Iain
