1.8 freelander wont start, getting fuel to fuel rail and if i disconect fuel reset switch it will run but only on tickover. If i then reconnect fuel reset it will tick over but cut out if throttle is opened. one landy so called specialist said he was beat, but said try a fuel relay. is this not waste of money or worth a try

int sure on the gaylander but yer might be able to swap another relay to try. maybe the horn or headlights or curling tongs one

Try these an give it a Viking funeral

sorry mate, couldnt PM by i-phone. What was the pressure on the MAP sensor? Less than 425-525mm Hg would indicate a vacuum leak. Check all pipes, The MAP sensor is incorporated into the ECU, if its a faulty diaphram, then a new ECU :( crap non-modular ECU. Some of the troops on MG-Rover.org might be able to advise on replacing the unit with a 2nd one :? Although usual reprogramming is an issue, eightinavee is a diagnostic technician
