Hi Guys

Ever since ive had my P38 the wash wipe has never worked (well not on main window rear works fine).

Getting ready for mot I looked under the front and the lights and fron window wash connectors were not connected! Arrr thinks me thats the problem. Connect the two to the correct pumps. Still wash wipe doesn't work??

Went back to car following day started up and pump on constantly??? water p***ing out everywhere at the front?

Im guessing thats why the connectors wernt connected and was a previous fault.

Anybody shed any light on what I can do to fix this as mot ran out now and need her back on the road?

Many thanks guys

Sorry forgot to mention when you press button on wiper lever the windscreen wipers work but no Wash?

The rear wipers and washer work fine, tried swapping pumps around but still same problem.

Thanks

Can you leave the pumps alone, but swap the pipes? It may be inconvenient to have to use the rear wash/wipe switch position to clean the windscreen, but it is legal. The MoT man just has to check that there is a working screen washer.

I did think of that but didnt know if it was legal or not. Perhaps if cant come up with another solution will have to go for that as a temporary thing.

maybe the switch on the steering stalk has gone,or the relay in the fuse box maybe stuck, try locating the correct relay and either give it a tap or try another one

I got an almost identical problem but with the rear. Doesn't happen imediatly after start up but putting the headlights on will kick it off, rear pump then runs.

This bit you are not wanting to hear: Mine happened after the BECM got wet and at the time the pump was triggered by opening the drivers door.

At the time when the BECM went crazy, headlights, indicators, wipers, washers and display showed about 10 blown fuse reports. sunroof and windows had a mind of thier own.

After drying out everything back to normal apart from the rear washer, Still bad a month later. So i've put it down to a BECM/connector failure. and i'm not going to mess with it. I can live without a rear washer
