Hi.
Please can anyone recommend where to start looking.
I have a Discovery 2 V8 which has been completely reliable for the last few years....However. Yesterday I jumped in turned the key and the battery seemed "sluggish". The car started and ran fine, drove to the petrol station etc and all fine.

Thinking "prevention" I charged the battery overnight and thins morning it shows its fully charged. Turned the key and NOTHING. All the dash lights are on and no warnings etc but no clicking from the starter or any attempt to turn over.

Please can you help?
Many thanks

Either your battery or the starter solenoid are goosed.

Did you check tightness of battery connections?
I had the same & the terminals had come loose.

Normally you may have a few relays chattering when trying to start with an iffy battery, are you sure the engine is remobilised as if it's not it won't crank.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Looks like im going under the car to look at the starter motor. Without sounding too stupid which side is the starter motor on? Drivers or passenger?
many thanks
