I have seen it once, when pushing the pistons back it damaged the seals in master cylinder, all we did was replace master and all back to normal. crack the pipes on master cylinder and see if you get fluid out.

Absolutely. In the dealership I worked at it was a disciplinary offence to push the old fluid back into the system. This is due to the fact that it can damage the ABS modulator.

i can only think of one ,what reason did they give

that is possible if you do it too fast ,and a failure of m/c is not uncommon during brake bleeding with old m/cs

No fluid in servo - so assume no leaks - stumped!

probably the inner seals of the master cylinder are passing/perrished, so no outward leaks will be evident,

replace the m/c and all should be well, brake systems such as abs are fail safe, if they fail you just dont get anti lock brakes, if the servo fails you just need to apply more effort,

its a simple hydraulic system, the m/c generates a high pressure into the pipes which in turn apply the resulting pressure to the caliper pistons, simple,,

so if you dont have any leaks its got to be the m/c
