ive discovered my trailer socket wasn’t wired in when the cross member was changed. I need the trailer tonight so I’m doing it myself.

I’m stuck on the colours. I’ve got a 7 and 13 pin diagram and neither of them have purple wires. It seems to be an 8 pin socket ?????

So far I have worked out the following (I think)

So trailer earth is white. Join white to red which is vehicle earth
Trailer red wire is stop light so join to brown on vehicle. Trailer tail light has two wires brown and black so join those together and to to brown / green wire on Landy

Just trying to sort indicators now. If I can do that, sod the rest . Unless I’m going to cause a fire or something. 1991 Defender 200tdi

FFS. I’ve just counted pins on the socket and there are 7. Where the hell did the purple wire come from
