hello i`m looking for a bit of advice, my disco 2 has just started vibrating quite badly when moving,

i pulled out on to a dual carriage way and there was a car coming up quite fast behind me so i put my foot down and changed into second quite quickly and the vibrating started happening as a result of that,

i also have been suffering with a clunking sound as i start moving from a stand still and this seems to have got worse aswell since my dual carriage way incidant,

i am going to get underneath it tomorrow and have a look as it was dark when it happened, any help or advice is much appreciated in advance.

yes they do

bastard!!! ive been quoted £300 for a new clutch,

ive had a look underneath and tested most of it with a pry bar and it looks alright,

i think it might be the clutch because ive had a dual mass flywheel go on me before on a focus that i had and the landrover feels the same as that.

cheers for the info lads, Liam.

right iv`e managed to to get a couple of spare hours to have a good look at the disco,

the propshafts and doughnut are good so i took it out up the road to check the clutch and that was the same as it was before so i think thats good,

i think it might be the transfer box as you can hear a noise coming from there if you listen carefully when in motion.

is vibrating a symptom of a fooked transfer box??

any help appreciated.

Not particularly, you normally get whines from a tranny box when it's worn. Depending on what is "fooked" of course.

i got the landrover up to my mates workshop today and found my problem,

the rear join on the front prop had snapped so it`s an easy fix:),

thanks for the info.

is that the swivel type bearing, If so it's exactly what caused mine to vibrate, becoming more common now it seems.
