Felix - thanks for the info, hubby just looked and it appears that the workings of the button that allow the back seat to fold have dropped into the hole and disappeared on the driver's side of the car, so we can't see anything of the RF stuff!

Love this car! never rains but it pours! Will keep trying!

Thanks Adam, turns out the battery has now given up too so I think we're on a roll! Probably the most problems Rick's had to sort out in one visit for a while!

Good job these things are the ultimate in luxury once they're moving, certainly more comfortable than my Scooby Impreza on long journeys! Just hope Rick can get it going before our hols on Saturday!

BeCM's have been known to drain batteries overnight, if RF sensor is not upgraded it can be awoken from wireless door bells, wifi, and other sources. Lovely cars when working but the only cheap way to own one is to do a lot of the work yourself or your other half.
BeCM resynching tools are available which once some of the other problems are sorted could help fix the key-BeCM problem.

If you can't see it maybe that's why it doesn't work. It is quite far around but I don't think its attached to the same actual piece of metal as the seat latch. The aerial wire is definetely no long enough to be out of site and still attached.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all your help over the last few days (seems like much longer!) Rick the Pick came over last night and has sorted the whole thing out. Turns out the code was corrupted in the BeCM which is why the car had completely shut down. Before Rick arrived we couldn't even unlock the back doors from inside the car!

Anyway, Rick's brilliant and despite all the grief I am very pleased to say we have a working Range Rover in time for our holiday, and at a mere fraction of the cost the Stealer wanted!! It's all in the name I know!

Right off out now to get a peice of tubing to repair our cruise control and a plastic screw that managed to get broken last night and all should be well with our expensive planter that finally moved under its own steam!!

Thanks again for all the help, we'll definitely be looking in on the forum pretty regularly now, without it the car would still be broken! All I gotta do now is 'persuade' the dealer he wants to keep his end of the bargain and pay the bill!

Cheers all,

Nikki. :D

Pleased you got sorted.
Now enjoy the car and your holiday !!
Quite certain you will be back on here again soon !!!

IrishRover I'm gonna assume you mean we'll be back cos it's interesting and not for any more sinister purpose... but I have my doubts!!!! ;)

After all's said and done I agree that there's nothing else like the RR to drive, but I also think there's nothing else like my Scooby for going round corners like it's on rails so Hubby can enjoy lazy luxury and I'll carry on being a girl racer who occasionally borrows RR to tow her horse trailer!! (And I'll try not to insult it anymore in case it's listening!!)

:)

Excellent news. Forum power strikes again. I can pretty much guarantee you will be back, but the good news is that it will be an issue that someone has had before and has sorted. There are a lot of people on here with a lot of knowledge, so feel free to ask any questions no matter how foolish they seem. Well done and enjoy your hols.

Good news Nikki! I hope you have no problems while you are away!

In my experience the female of the species are far better at that sort of thing than the males :p

Best Wishes from a fellow biker, Impreza owner and RR (Classic) owner

Pete

(come to think of it I used to live in Worthing as well!!)
