Oh bugger took slave cylinder out this morning left push rod behind. gave it a quick tug out it came with a plastic collar and clip to retain.does this need to go on if so will i have to remove gearbox as cant see any other way. only took 10 mins to remove slave. she gonna kill me if its off the road any longer

it is possible to put together without taking gearbox off if you look in the hole with a torch you can see the clutch fork and where the push rod plastic retainer clips to it using a long screwdriver you can clip it back
but you may need 3 hands to do it and a small head to see in the hole
but i have done it that way before

SORTED i tried to fit but with fingers like sausages i couldnt get my fingers in the slave cylinder hole clip sliding all round push rod.then inspiration i super glued the plastic clip onto the push rod knowing the glue would break under usage,i then slipped a long reach socket over the push rod.with the push rod sticking 25mm out of the socket i was able to line the clip up to the clutch operating arm once lined up i pushed the socket which gave all round pressure and the clip went on first attemt less than 3 mins work.:D:D:D:D

you dont need to refit clip ,as long as rod is held in socket in arm while slave is put on ,theres allways some pressure to hold rod in place once slave is olted up ,is good practice to hold rod with your fingers while slave is removed
