Right my thermostat, water pump, hoses and rad all showed up this morning, so loaded them into the rangie and set of on my way to the garage the temp gauge went upto half way and stayed there so i thought i would give it a bit of drive to see how long it would take to overheat.
90 miles later and the temp did not go over half way.
So do i assume it is ok or do i go ahead and change all the parts?
Also could the waterfall that came out of the expansion tank just have been a massive air lock?

have you checked the water level? it does sound like an air lock to me but then again many symtoms often have different causes.
has there been a change in temp of heater, radiator or any change in feel of hoses?
just noticed that the driver side footwell is slightly damp but only right up against the seat base any ideas on what it could be?
As i am about to change everything on the cooling system so could i be barking up the wrong tree changing the rad, thermostat and pump???
