I am still stuck on this problem, going around in circles (like the key!).

I am trying to get the barrel out, so i can replace all the locks on the car (ignition, door, tailgate etc) with a common barrel/key.

From what i have read, on the ignition lock, if i turn the key to the I position, and then poke in the pin hole, i should be able to press on something inside which should release the barrel.

But if i look down the pin hole, i can't see anything as i turn it that looks like it wants pushing, and i have tried pushing at various times as i turn the key, all with no result.

Am i looking at the right pin hole?
There is higher up the ignition lock what looks like another hole, but this one is filled - looks to me like something to help keep the outer barrel on the inner barrel.

Do you have the new barrel?
If so can you not look at it and work out what and where the bit that needs to be pushed is?

The ignition key is different than the doors.
I don't think you can change the barrel, you need a complete unit.

There are two types of switch at the back of the lock. .....

Excellent. On that basis, i will stop trying to take it apart. I will go get a couple of spare ignition keys made up, and then sort out my door / tailgate locks separately.
Many thanks
