Thx Ian M , I’ve got a quote for a recon engine from the uk from the Freelander specialists and need someone who’s willing/can fit it. Land Rover France won’t help due to age of vehicle.Hi these people are not too far from you I have bought parts from them and seem okay they may be able to help, might be better to look for good second hand engine lots about in the UK but not so easy to get it out here now, what has gone on the old engine?

I would look for a smallish local garage, a Freelander 1 engine change should not be a problem for most Mechanics ask around to find a good one, hope you get it sortedThx Ian M , I’ve got a quote for a recon engine from the uk from the Freelander specialists and need someone who’s willing/can fit it. Hi SS, ok with the lingo and sourced a recon engine from uk - fitting is a big issue here as very few specialists...Sorry, the only person I could recommend is in the Tarn so a long way from you and I am not sure he deals with FLs.
Do you have a place over there or are you there on holiday?
I'll do a bit of searching in French for you and get back on if I find anything.
How are you with the Frog lingo?
Small world Marc - great ice cream in Thiviers!!Hi
I used to live in Thiviers, now in Riberac.
I can recomend a very good garage in Eyzerac,Garage Boudy.
Not sure about supplying a replacement engine though.
Good luck.
Marc.
I agree with @Ian M in France, you should be able to find a non-specialist willing to do it, at the end of the day, an engine swap is an engine swap. Of all things LR this isn't the toughest. Just hope that you don't have too many problems with the electronics.Hi SS, ok with the lingo and sourced a recon engine from uk - fitting is a big issue here as very few specialists...
...........Hi there, sorry to hear about the trouble you've got with your Landy.
Do you know what has happened to the engine?
Can you have it towed or transported?

Hi Mark, unable to tow/transport...........
What did happen to the engine do you know?Hi Mark, unable to tow/transport
its what else they smuggle in the van you need to worry about, white bags of powder in the engine blockMiggt be worth trying Shipley.com. i bet a couple of Poles would be down in a day, pick it up and probably walk it there for £100.
