I have a 1995 RR 2.5 dt and the electric windows, mirrors and sunroof stopped working, hi / lo switch not working and info centre keeps flashing "select neutral/ transfer neutral, been to dealers for diagnostic they didnt have a clue other than maybe decm unit can anyone help?

is it an auto?

if yes then there is a motor that can seize that selects the hi lo range.
use a direct 12 volt feed on it from a battery, also a nice tap with a hammer.

windows, mirrors. its probably the panel that all switches are on.
if you know some one with a p38 then just detach there panel( easy to do) and plug it into your wiring to test.

No its a manual gearbox, is there still a motor and where is it located?

will try swapping switch panels

thanks for replying

OK,

Mine is a manual too.
explain in detail the exact fault that you have with gearbox.

IS IT THAT OU WANT TO SELECT LOW RANGE? AND IT WONT GO INTO LOW RANGE?.

BE SPECIFIC AND I WILL TRY AND HELP

EWAN:)

the switch on the dashboard do`s absolutely nothing, the info centre is constantly telling me to select neutral/transfer neutral, I have only just bought this car (my first rr) and i dont have a clue (obviously)

apparently the sunroof was once left open in the rain!

Water in the central switch panel may be the obvious cause of your problem. Like it was said above, if you can try another switch panel this will confirm if this is the case.

you have to hold the clutch to the floor when you press the hi/lo button .
no 1. depress clutch and hold
n02. press switch to transfer from hi to low or vise versa
no3. wait for dash to confirm hi or low gears .
n0 4 remove foot from clutch and of you go.

tried that, didnt do anyting, could all my faults be connected?

Yes your faults could be connected.

If it was me i would go to a non franchised landrover garage and let them plug it into diagnostic equipment.( stay away from franchised dealers ).

If you can get to C+A landrovers Colne, lancs ask for Terry Or Dave and they will sort you out .They have the diagnostic equipment and there is nothing they dont know, and they are very reasonable .Its just how far you are away !

Cheers everyone for your replys and advice! Had an auto electrician set to my rangie he practicly pulled all the wiring out Diagnosis BECM unit, found a place that will fix for £350 plus p&p with 2 year warranty anyone know anywhere cheaper??

cheers again

Jamie
