Hello I wonder if someone can help me
I have a Land Rover 90 2001 TD5
Driving home from work other day the Nearside indicator light was permanently on it wasn’t flashing on the nearside the light was permanently on as daft as it sounds when this happened my fuel pump stopped working i turn the vehicle off turned it back on the light went off and my fuel pump kicked in And drove perfect Now the pump is not working but indicator light is permanently on the car cranks over fine the off side indicator works fine Any ideas

Check all your earths first, they are the usual source of off electrical problems. Your fuel pump might be a coincidence or that could be the earth under the drivers seat near the ecu, oil in the loom/.ecu red plug or loose or dirty relays by your ecu.

Fuel pump earthing through the indicator wiring? Would seem to be the simplest option from what you've described. finding earth faults is always fun.... not!

Well I noticed that my tow plug has gone all rusty inside so I’ve removed it Now when I put the indicator on my side light flash with the indicator but go off after 30 sec or so but still hav no fuel pump i have replaced the harness under the rocker cover but i will have a look at the earth next to ecu is the fuel pump earth with the indicators??

Its doing my head in shudda kept my tdi thought id treat my self to a td5 think i hav just bought a bigger problem

I had this with my old 110 V8. I think I had a Friday afternoon special and at various times previous owners had tried to fix (bodge) various electrical faults. I got so tired of trying to trace faults in a wiring loom that bore no resemblance to the factory wiring diagram that I ended up ripping almost the whole loom out and starting from scratch. It was actually not that difficult, no PCBs, no ECUs, just straight forward copper wiring. About 3 bloody miles of it.
