You need to enter the EKA code....

This is a code entered by turning the key in the door lock a specific number of times in differing directions to tell the immobiliser to remobilise the car.

The P38 has a stupidly complex security system.....do some research on the EKA code and take a look in the paperwork you got with the car, some people write it down in the owners manual.

Thank you for your help I shall try it later. Today

Won't affect the entering of the EKA but weak fob batteries will affect the syncing of the fob to the car.

If you have changed the batteries and taken longer than a couple of minutes to do it, the fob will have lost sync with the car. If you locked the car with the fob and opened it with the key you will have "Engine disabled enter EKA or press fob". If fob has lost sync that will not work and EKA must be entered correctly. If you get it wrong twice open and close drivers door and try again. Do NOT try it three times if you fail you will get "Key code lockout" for thirty minutes. And the EKA will not be accepted until this goes off the message centre. When EKA has been accepted fob can be synced to car. This CANNOT be done until EKA has been accepted.

Have you tried the key resync procedure yet. Key in drivers door, press & hold lock button while turning the fob to the lock position for 3 seconds, back to centre?
