Hi Guys, So the Disco has failed its MOT rust and rot on the chassis on the back end (shock n' horror!) So long story short I need to get myself a rear half chassis, front end is as good as new back end is as good as dust! Would make sense to get a galved one and save doing this again further down the line. rest of the truck is tip top (for now) so the it is worth fixing. Can anyone put me in touch with someone who supplies/makes these, I'm already looking online myself and my garage is calling round as well but any help would be very welcome, seen them on line for between £600-£800 (ish) anyone know of somewhere I can get one for less as my pockets are only so deep at the moment. Many thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

You might not need a half chassis, instead you might be able to get away with a rear third which tends to be the area most at risk.

Some pics might help, is it that rotted it can't be repaired?
Thanks for having a read, holes (fairly big uns) in the chassis behind the suspension spring mounting on both sides near side rear shock mounting has come off and the off side looks like it'll go any time soon. Might be able to patch it up just enough to get it through the test but it'd need replacing at some point in the near future anyway, on top of that I've had one of the bumper mount brackets give up and its all a bit of a mess so spring project was gonna be replace rear 1/4 in order to be able to mount a HD bumper.

I may be wrong,

But has not one of the mags done a write up this month on changing a D2 rear chassis?
May be worth a read.

Cheers

Put some pictures up, and we can comment....

The shocker mount area is quite important, and IME, once the chassis has rotted that far, then its not good... However, without pictures, it is impossible to pass any proper comment on yours.

If the rest of the vehicle is good, then I'd put a galv chassis under it - it's not cheap.... it is however, good value...:)

Will get some pics up tomorrow once I have some light again, it ain't good. Full galvanised chassis is one of the options I'm looking at the rest of the Disco is in good order and has only just gone over 100 so I will be repairing it one way or another. Thanks for all the advice so far guys it is appreciated.
