Hi guys, just a quick question.
I am still getting the noise from my freelander 1 when driving, it doesn't happen until after about 3 miles of driving but then it is constant and gets faster as the car gets faster and vice versa. It sounds almost like one of those bicycle wheel spokes that move or like something rattling in an empty tin, it is very loud from outside and also very annoying. I have no propshaft on it so I know this is not the problem, I have alsoput the car into neutral whilst driving quickly and the noise is still there. It passed its mot fine and so I was just wondering if it could possibly be the passenger side driveshaft??? The sound is coming from the passenger side front. I have tried putting it on axle stands and trying it but nothing happens then so really confused. The wheels have been checked and there are no loose stones or anything. Could it be the driveshaft and if so is it an expensive job to get done.

Inspection hatch off wheel liner rubbing on tyre? Sounds daft but hey.....

Your prop is off but how much off? Seen some just literally taken off but still with bits of UJ going round which isn't good..

In reply to you r post about prices, have a google for the parts and then add on the recommended hours to fit. Ask your garage for a quote before they do anything. Loads of folk come back on here moaning about how much they've been charged but to be fair, a decent garage deserves a decent payment - finding a decent garage is another matter all together though.

i believe its the full propshaft that has been taken off it certainly looks like it.
the wheel liner is definately not rubbing and inspection hatch has already been off to try to find source but couldnt find anything myself.
do you know how many hours it should take to fit?
