Hi, I have a 200 tdi engine in my series and I have been doing the diesel plumbing today and believe I have done it wrong!!! What I have done is - tank to lift pump, lift pump to filter, filter to feed on diesel pump, return from diesel pump which has the small hose from the return injectors to tank. when trying to prime it the fuel seems to just go round and back to tank without getting to injectors.
After having a think I was going to try - tank to lift pump, lift pump to filter, filter to feed on diesel pump, return from diesel pump leaving the small hose attached back to filter, another small hose from top of filter return to tank. Have you done this type of work? Do you think it will work?
I have used 8mm outer plastic diesel tube.
Thanks in advance:)

shouldnt need a non return ,return banjo on pump should have a really small hole to bleed pump but hold pressure to feed pump

Think it is the series type like a tractor one, two inlets two outlets and small banjo fitting on top for return from injectors which at the moment I have blocked off.
IF series then check housing for arrows indicating direction of flow for fuel in and out of housing are correct.

Hi, got some photo's not much light in shed; 1st photo showing non return valve I have just put in, second one showing flow banjo (I may have got the flow and return wrong so if I have could you let me know as it still won't work) third photo of return from pump not sure if it is right just going by the return pipe connecting to it from injectors, fourth photo just general. I would like to know if the flow and return are right on pump. I have not yet put in the return to tank just blanked it to get fuel flowing first.
first photo did not load

Are you taking the injector spill pipe back to the injector pump then from injector pump to tank, or trying to put it straight back into the filter/tank?

Mine had a hole in the spill pipe between injectors and injector pump, caused really rough running and non starting (assume it was sucking air through it)

Just been reading some threads on forum and on one it is saying you need a 12v supply to open the shut off solinoid, maybe that is my problem solinoids not connected and maybe stopping fuel getting to injectors, will try that tomorrow.

Yep that'll stop it lol, you need an ignition feed to it, use ?white wire to coil if converting a petrol, if converting diesel it's not as easy as ignition feeds are killed when cranking, I put a starter button in to counteract it on mine :)

Got fed up trying to bleed it, spun the engine over noticed it was spitting fuel out of injectors so tightened them up spun it again and er fired up sounding sweet, got to do the throttle cable now so I can rev it and millions of other things, but pleased about engine.
