Hi,the mssus drives the freelander all the time she has been complaining of the car driving slow!!!

I drove the car today and whilst pulling out of my car park space steering on full lock there was a knocking and squeeking noise that sounded like it was coming from the front of the car WHAT IS IT??

Also i was driving along and put my foot to the floor (in gear) and the engine just reved so i am thinking this is the clutch am i correct??

And should i be driving the car?:(

Can you please help me on this and give me some sort of price to buy and get fitted?

Thanks stewy

the knock/squeak from the front could be a anti roll link, try rocking the motor whilst stood still or a manual check of the joints.
the other favourite is the c.v joint.
if the engine reved up but didnt increase the speed of the vechicle i would agree with clutch, if how ever it is moving more like a old 2.25 diesel then i would say turbo hose.

Driving with a slipping clutch will ultimately wear/score the flywheel leading to a more expensive repair. It could also burn out altogether resulting in a breakdown recovery so probably best not to drive it until you can get a new clutch fitted.

and the td4 used a dual mass fly wheel so big bucks!!
if you do get the clutch changed make sure they change the slave/bearing at the same time.
