Hi all forgive me if this been asked before but my stereo r990 said 'code' on it last week when I went to view picked up couple days ago and stereo just seems dead! Any ideas? Also this my first disco and it has 20" stormers on but I'm not keen on them think I prefer 16 or 18 with bfg's ideally if anyone fancies a deal lol. Also would the stormers slow down acceleration or affect mpg? Thanks in advance

no one on here who respects their car or themselves would trade for 20" chav wheels, plus you need 50 useful posts anyway before you can pedal tat

The radio needs a four digit security code before it'll work. You'll find that on the Land Rover Security Information card which should go with the vehicle .... Oh! You don't have it ... Fresh outta ideas, sorry.

The seller hasn't gone and put a duff head unit in and kept the working one after you viewed it?

Yeah, I know but it's the cynic in me.

Tried the fuses, no the dealer never swapped it lol. Gonna have to book it in I think. Does anyone know if a alpine unit will plug straight in and work ok with the HK?

hk is alpine the d2 header unit and amp is alpine, or thats what i have been told

Yes, the R990 radio is Alpine, as is the power amp under the passenger's seat. In RAVE, it's called the high line ICE system.

The HK system has the sat-nav built in but the R990 does not.

If it's of any help I do have a picture of the plugs and the pin-out for the R990 which you can find on my own website.
