I'm trying to get the front half shafts out my series(2) as we speak but im stuck. I cant get the hub assembly off. Taken the drive flange off and the hub nuts but I cant for the life of me see what needs to come off next. Dont need to remove the shafts totally, just enough to change the diff.

Yes i know its not in the series section but i was hoping to get a quicker response here

Please:)

Word on the street is that Matts getting your old diffs. Why wont he buy a decent axel?!?

Just remembered i had to use a "bearing puller" set to get my wheel bearings off once, effectively just a set of conviniently angled leangths of steel for leavering, just shows they can be a pig to get off. I cant think of anything else stopping it from coming off. Perhaps its the origional wheel bearings.

I suppose youve tryed hitting it on further, too see if you can get some play in it to work with?

as in take it off from behind the swiel ball? Those bolts dont look like they've moved in a very long time! Plus I wanted to have a look at the condtion in the hub, and the uj etc.

take the swivel pins out and hub will slide out keep an eye ont the shims on the top one and check pre load on refit
