ive just bought a 1962 landrover
its been used for off-roading and ive had a guy take a look at
he says the chassis is very good the roll bar is good tyres fine body bit rough engine good (its a 2.8 diahatsui diesel) its just had a new canvas drives well no major problems except the headlights sometimes wont work
and the right hand indicator doesnt work now
now for the cry for help
is it series 11 or series 11a?
were is the best place for spares?
yes i know you think about things before buying(the wife`s told me enough) but im 40 and closer to the grave than the womb so time short
anyway.............
ive checked the light wires for the headlights and think its aloose wire on the switch so what the best course of action?
as for the indicator due to the fact that the horn doesnt work and thers no windscreen washes im thinking of replacing it with a series 3 and wire the horn to it and fitting washes
any ideas and any advice would be most helpfull

ey up arthritis, its a 2a, it stands a chance of bein a connector as they corrode over the years. you are probably better off rewiring it anyway, whether you go down the s3 route or just rewire as standard ;)

im thinking the s3 arm will be the better option
plus if she whos in charge decides she ever wants to drive it
washes and a horn are a big plus
 
 
One job leads to another, then another but its good to have a project to work with and theres always help available, paddocks good and cheap and you cant beat finding someone local for parts just incase of emergencies, Good luck.
 
back again sorry no photos to busy with work
I've mended the indicator its a loose wire move the wire it gos off move it back it works
fixed the headlights it was a wire from the foot switch so I've run a new wire but the foot switch not working so new 1 needed not to much of a worry at the moment
next thing seatbelts and fastening the seats in
it got new seats in it but I need to have plates made to level them off my 15 yo daughter can't really reach the pedals so since shes decided that is now her landy ill have to do it for her
anyway seatbelts what would you recommend I fit? and where's the best place to buy them or should I try the local scrap yard?
