Ok so I did the 1st time but the next 2 I did not have to ok so I will need to just get on it and see if I have mest up I hope I have not as I just dont have the funds to spend no more on it how do I get the torque converter of the gearbox as I did try the 2 time I had the engine out but it would not pull off it moved towards me by a inch but then would not move no more so sorry to go on 1st time I have worked on a range rover
torque converters must be fully fitted up to the box before fitting the box to engine or engine to box your likely to break pump drive in the box otherwise

The TC must be fitted to the front pump before mating the box to engine, you'll wreck the pump usually if not done correctly.

Ok so I may of killed the box is it more them likely I have killed the box or do I have a chance as I will just leave it till I get the cash for a box if this is the case

Ok I have just been out and put the snap on diagnostic on it and ther is no gearbox faults so would the pump come up on this

If it was towed when it broke then there may be a fuse in fuse 11?
Be careful the box is F**** Very heavy and awkward to try and hold

Thanks but wean in the car it is showing on the dash that it's in drive but not moving I will check the fuse and I will drop the box on a Jack to be safe any info on pulling 1 out

Ok up date box is out and I can not get the torqueconverter of it comes forward abit then stops but I have found a new oil pump and bellhousing for 150 so I have ordered that what's your thought on putting in a new pump and getting the torqueconverter off thanks

My experience is with the ZF boxes fitted to the RRC but a look at LRcat suggests the later ZF on the L322 has much the same TC setup so my 2p's worth.
The ZF torque converters usually have what looks like a tube projecting from the rear centre of the TC into the gearbox itself.
The tube usually has two slots cut on the end that goes furthest into the box.
These slots engage with & drive the fluid pump in the box.
The TC MUST be seated on the box to a set depth to be sure these slots have engaged.
If they aren't it will still all bolt up but will damage the pump.
No pump = no fluid pressure = no drive.

Can't help with yours being apparently stuck - the RRC one just falls off when you remove the box which comes as something of a surprise the first time you take the box off. TCs are very heavy & an utter PITA to refit unless the box is hung vertically.

With a bit of luck Bemble will be along shortly to put us all right! :)
