Hi all.....Just an update. Everything was put on hold until the festivities were over.....I went down to her this morning to try all the suggestions that were posted on here by you lovely people and guess what, we're still not in:(.....
Her son connected the battery charger to the positive on the starter and the negative to the chassis and left it charging all night. I went down this morning and tried the fob which wasn't illuminating on the unlock button but was illuminating on the lock button but didn't do anything. Normally a thunk could be heard when pressing the lock button when it is locked. So I figured that the fob was out of sinc. I removed the button cover to expose the micro-switches and sure enough, the unlock switch was broken with the little nipple thing falling out in my hand. I stuck a small screwdriver in to the aperture an pressed on the micro-switch and the LED illuminated. Grand I thought. Tried this method with the fob up against the rear window at the RF receiver but still nothing. Then I put the key in the drivers door lock and tried the re-sinc procedure of locking and unlocking with the fob pressed. Still no joy. I then tried to enter the EKA code but that didn't do anything except set the side and rear repeaters off 3 times whenever I turned the key anti-clockwise. Last thing I done was to remove the passenger door rear quarter glass. Got that out, put my arm inside which triggered the alarm and satisfied me that the BECM was getting power. I then lifted the sill latch, Pulled the door handle inside the car as well as outside but still locked......I take it this is what superlocked means. To sum up. Power to car. No re-action to fob buttons. Drivers door does not unlock with key and sill latch doesn't rise or fall when using key. Lifting sill latch on rear passenger door doesn't unlock that either. EKA code doesn't do anything.....The car is auto and in park with handbrake on. Poor woman can't even have it towed to a dealer. Please, any more help at this stage would be so much appreciated.

Happy new year all.

Thanks.

It sounds like the lock mech is fecked, it is superlocked and the fobs are out of sync....

Short of butchery, there are not any options left i think....

To get it to a garage, two choices....

One full lift using hiab

Two, disconnect the two prop shafts so it can towed.

Try some WD40 down the door lock and wiggle the key a few times, not normally recomended but it worked recently on another lock out. It may also be that the battery is still not charged enough.

Thanks Andy V8.....I was hoping to avoid all that.....

Datatek....I have told her to send the fob off to some guy who repairs them as it is definately fecked. There is a guy on this forum that does this work. I'm sure somebody will be along to give me the details or maybe your good self might know. About the battery. I think after 5 weeks lying up being drained by ecu's, that it is dead and not taking a charge. I was hoping there would be enough power from the charger to operate the central locking. Would I be right?...

Thanks guys.

How big is the charger? If the battery is totaly flat it may not recover. A 4 amp charger could take 2 or 3 days to bring it up. The voltage will not rise sufficiently from the charger if the battery is really flat so powering the system from the charger doesn't come into it. Low voltage causes all sorts of strange happenings with the ECU's.
Not sure about a guy on this forum mending the FOB's, but it has been mentioned, do a site search.

Thanks Datatek. I am convinced the battery is dead. There was no alarm flashers without the charger being connected. I also think that this was the beginning of the problems with this car. Maybe it is charging up but their is no way to tell because we can't get the feckin bonnet open.....Oh what a nightmare. I wonder, if I got in touch with a very good car thief.....Hmmmnnn.

replace the charger with a set of decent jump leads and a good battery , this should rule out voltage issues with the lock out . just a thought without reading the full thread .

Yes, worth a try I suppose, although She said that a guy with a running tractor connected his battery to the Rangie last week and still no result. I think get the fob repaired before I try anything else.

Thanks.

If you have taken the rear quarter light out ( as I did when I was locked out of mine) why cant you get a hook of some sort to pull the bonnet catch and open the bonnet to get at the battery

Good idea, it's also been done from underneath with some suitable bits of bent wire:)

Oh heck.

If the becm has shut down the keyfob will shut down also. You need to use the EKA code. I wouldn't pay for another fob as you wouldn't be able to sync it to the car.

If the known working EKA code isn't working then the becm has completely shut down hence superlocking the all doors with it.

Get into the car then give me a shout.

Has Mozz been on to you yet?

That's the problem. We can't get in. Tried EKA but does nothing. I have put the EKA into this car before with no problem so, as you say, either the BECM has shut down completely due to lying up with flat battery or their is insufficient power going to the locks to operate them.....Either way, getting in is the problem.....
