The snow is here and just when I might really need my P38 she's playing silly beggars!
Anyone recommend a garage with diagnostics locally?
Over the last couple of days I've had a few problems all come out together. First was a very slight rough running, notchy gear change occassionally (3rd - 4th only). Very quickly followed by a soft EAS fault (EAS lights did Christmas tree impression) with EAS fault on message screen. EAS continues to work as it should, has stayed up for 3/4 days, levels as it should just the lights on and can't adjust manually. Also on one occassion LPG went made - as if it lost power and reset itself, been fine ever since. Rough running (doesn't make any difference whether on gas or petrol) has got worse and then up pops gearbox fault message. But does smooth out above 2000 revs - just feels like going to stall when you lift off the pedal.
I'm at the end of renovating our house, have bathroom & kitchen to fit, driveway is a lake of mud, heating needs finishing, house needs painting and I need to do the day job
First thought was battery/alternator related but checked battery when not running (12.4v) and at idle (14.7v minimum) - so assuming both good and no loss from dodgy cables between both. Also disconnected MAF as rough running felt like that - but no difference in how she ran.
No sign of sluggish battery when starting and the symptoms are there hot or cold. Took her for a 20 mile run and she seemed to clear the rough running by half way and, after a restart, didn't throw a gearbox fault on way back.
So looking for a sensible garage that knows a 2000 4.6 v8 (Thor) with lpg and might be able to plug it in and give me an answer by magic! Or better still if anyone can recognise the symptoms and give me a pointer?
Thanks
Trevor
