Hello fellow defenders !!! :D

I have found a 2009 defender 90 with the diesel 2.4 engine, pictured below:

I have never owned a land rover before, but I heard a lot of stories about their "rock solid" reliability  (DAMN you Lucas :D )

I want to know if there are specific common faults to look for in this specific model. Especially, since the weather where I do live is hot, harsh and humid 8 months a year. (could reach 51 C !!!!)
Also, I want to know how is the air conditioning in this car, is it cold enough in the hot summer?
And this car being a 2.4 diesel, does it have good off-roading potential in soft sand hills?

I heard also the defender owners are the most awesome helpful down-to-earth people :)

Please don't prove me wrong.
Thanks in advance guys !!!

Think the price would be a drawback for me!
Not much call for aircon either,I just open the vents.Which I think this doesnt have either.
Like Bromsgrove,I switch off after TD5,I get much more pleasure from running a classic.Love not getting bills for thousands too.
