The key blade will be worn, same has happened on mine. Hard to see the wear though.I by chance saw the PO that had found second key/fob for my p38. Got the fob working but it’s not much use with the rf disconnected.
My 2nd key operates the central locking and alarm, drivers door no problems but won’t turn in ignition?!? Looks exactly the same as one that does and is the genuine key(s) for it

Yea strange, and I had the 3 keys!!
Don't know this, BUT in my A8, the allen key resides in the fuse box by the driver's right foot.
