Is this for real? Are they talking about keys or FOB's? Replacement keys are easy, replacement FOB's are not.
I do not have access to Farcebook so I cannot use that link.

According to Les, they've spent a fortune on coding equipment and many happy customers. The only fly in the ointment is they are not flip keys, just standard bladed like Discovery or some such.

He works with AA as well. I asked a while back as I have AA key cover...

Anyway, he's a member (admin) of the Range Rover P38 BeCM facebook forum.

The key has to be different from the FOB? It's true that you cannot have 2 FOB's with the same code.

Sorry, switched between terms there as it comes as a single unit.

No, you can have any key (1,2,3 or 4) you want but if you have 2 of the same number then they will knock each other out of sync. If the number has rubbed off the back you can work it out if you have memory seats.

So it's a con, it's not possible to self program the P38 FOB, nor as far as I know can the chip be reprogrammed by anyone else. In any case the code for any particular car would need to be known and if the owner has no FOB where would the code come from? HUF who make the FOB have the records.

I'm not so sure about that. I'm pretty sure @MrSporty can clone fobs. I suspect he can intercept the rf signal and tell if it is key 1,2,3 or 4 too. If he knows that and knows how it is stored in the BECM he can probably work out how to program a keyfob. After that it is a case of whether it is one write only or not so new chip or not.

Yes I can clone and decode fobs. I'm currently finalising a self programmable flip fob that looks exactly like the original. You program it by holding down the buttons in a certain sequence then pressing each of the 9 digits of your vehicles fob code in turn. It also supports forced syncing where once programmed with your vehicles fob code , you set it to force mode and it keeps sending rolling codes until the locks start to cycle .. so no messing around with drivers door locks or barrel rings.

Ill post up a wee video when I get the daylight :)

Last time martyuk helped me he mentioned he was nearly ready to clone keys to becm and I think he meant re-write but don't hold me to that though...would need to re-check thread..

I've got 2 keys, one the fob works, the other is stone dead. Good news is it locks/unlocks with the blade... o_O

So, who's cheapest to fix my dead fob then?

Fight, fight, fight :D

I sent my FOB away to be fixed, what was done was the chip from my dead FOB was transferred to a working board. However it still does not work.

I think he takes the chip from your dead FOB and puts it into a working board.

I by chance saw the PO that had found second key/fob for my p38. Got the fob working but it’s not much use with the rf disconnected.
My 2nd key operates the central locking and alarm, drivers door no problems but won’t turn in ignition?!? Looks exactly the same as one that does and is the genuine key(s) for it
