Hi all,
I changed both UJs on the front propshaft today and took it for a test drive, had a very small amount of vibration, so drove over to the local Land Rover garage to seek advice. On the way there and back (over an hour) I didn't feel any vibration. He suggested that we change the more worn front tyres for the new rear ones, as I felt that would help and rule that out. So we changed them around at my workshop and started driving home. On the way back (20 mins) we had several periods of the vibration again, really only a bit better than it was on Saturday.
Any more suggestions? Just to repeat, it happens mostly around 40 to 50mph, dipping the clutch kills it instantly and feels like you are going over the bumpy lines at the edges of motorways (not quite as bad as this, but same feeling). Does feel like it coincides with revs, but perhaps lower revs bring it on (as I think does a bump in the road, although I cannot say this for sure as it doesn't happen every time by any means).
Could it be related to the oil levels in the transfer box or gearbox? I haven't checked them for a while.
All and any advice really appreciated.
James
