If your going to go for an Ashcroft box, IMO dont use their installation service! Buy the box only and either DIY of find a trusted local firm to fit it.

The first fitting company damaged the CPS wiring, messed up the clutch.
Went back to them 6 weeks later, as the new Gbox and Tbox were both leaking and the gear change was almost impossible.
When I went to collect it, they announced "sorry but we think its un-drivable" well cant you sort it? " No not our problem, take it up with Ashcroft"
Sure enough it was almost impossible to change gear, I managed to get it home, fitted a new slave cylinder, bled the clutch properly, drained some black shxt that they had put in the gearbox, put new MTF94 in, now drivable.
Started leaking from gearbox again, booked into different Ashcroft fitting centre, when they dropped the gearbox out, they showed me the clutch plate, the first lot had bent the plate, no doubt hanging the gearbox off it!
Gearbox and Tbox went back to Ashcroft for "repairs", refitted.
Gear shift still bad, until I re did the bias spring adjustment, now perfect.
BUT still leaking from Gearbox and Tbox!!
Its not going back there, anyway because of my engine issues times up on the warranty.

Phew!!! Did not expect to type so much!!!

**** and mistakes happen to the best of us but thats a poor story
 
Hi James, have to say I was very disappointed!
Things can always go wrong.
I always think the best test of a supplier is how they handle a problem, Ashcroft were good, loan cars etc but the quality of their fitters and their inability to fix oil leaks ultimately let them down.

David Ashcroft called me about it. Offered to do it again, then my engine blew!
They left the ball in my court but I just dont want anyone else to work on my car now!
Didnt really want to dis them but they had three goes (including the first time) to get it sorted and they didnt.
Im sure plenty of their customers are happy, just happens not to be me!

So you are saying that AQM, AQF, ATF are all the same?

Think the later stuff is basically upgrades, probably with a better additive package for more demanding applications in modern applications. They seem to be pretty interchangeable in practice in older machinery, at least.

I really don't fancy stripping the box myself, I've never done it before so it would be so easy to miss something, go to all that effort and to have wasted my time. I do have a decent sized garage so I have no issue removing/replacing the box (did it on my SIII years ago so it can't be much harder on a 110). Besides, by the time I've spent a few hundred quid on gearbox parts and specialist tools, I'm half way to an Ashcroft box anyway.

If there's no "magic product" fix, I'll keep running it gently, and get the box out soon.

Bear in mind that if the rest of that circlip piece you picked out finds it's way between two meshed gears, the gearbox will be coming out sooner rather than later and may contain a lot less re-useable bits. My mate drove his County one trip too far with what I guess is similar noises to yours, and it completely "shat" the LT77, the only recoverable bits were bell housing and gearcase.
