hi i recently went off roading and got a conciderable amount of water in my air filter engine started to lose power and stall engine now only idles and after any sort of accelerating drops and loses power then stalls can any one give me any advice
would be very grateful

It's always helpful when we know what landy and engine type we are talking about. Also more information on how the water was ingested, were you moving what was the depth etc may help.

It could be that you have an actual engine problem (bent valve, conrod or similar) or that you have a throttle potentiometer or other electrical fault. Without more info we would be shooting in the dark.
 
put a new filter in didnt make much difference also put a new battery in it checked fuel was coming from the fuel injectors that was fine
 
200s are pushrods right? So if you filled it with water the pushrods are almost certainly bent.
 
Bent at least one con rod in an astra van once, drowned it in a flood.:doh: Managed to get it started again and drove out of the flood, didn't even get me feet wet. Soon became obvious that all was not well through, a bugger to start when cold and lacked power. Took it to garage a few days later where they stripped the engine and replaced the bent con rods. Also hot turbo's do not take kindly to having cold water pass through them, found that out on an 18 month old mondeo. Both company cars:)
 
Worth looking at the fuel system, a mate had similar issues after a few hours off roading, had to be towed back to his unit as it would idle, but no power when he tried to drive.

Turned out to need a new in tank fuel pump as the pipes had corroded due to the mud and dirt that accumilates over the years.

You could also check the fuel filter and sediment bowl. All worth a check before the expense of stripping the engine.
 
you need to get compressions checked first, a good garage will be able to do it and charge you about an hours time if their ok (all roughly the same and above 300 psi ) then fuel starvation?? try putting your own fuel supply to pump(injection) and see if it will rev then

yes does help i think my fuel pump is gone i loosen the bleed on top of the fuel filter and it reved fine
