hi put a post on in dec, had some help , but still not running right , renewed heads, pulley, timing chain.maf, cam sensor, throttle body , still not running right, only fault that came up was cam sensor , that as been renewed, engine back together, will start but still misfiring , and now not picking its oil up !!!!!! any ides . thanks:(

get a cheap obd adaptor elm bluetooth download a obd programme on your phone and read the codes then eliminate them try that thats the problem l had fuel trims were a mile out and the amount of codes read like war and peace including cam sensor never replaced it tho. l eliminated them ran it for a couple of weeks to see if the codes came back. the only one that keeps coming back is oxygen sensor bank 1 but as l run on lpg it doesnt become a problem it ran ok on lpg but would back fire pop and misfire l ran out of gas in france that was the final straw 50 miles like that at 40mph was frightning l can tell when l got back thats what i did best £5 ive spent and u can leave it in and check it whenever u want even whilst ur on the move . going to do it when l can worked for me maybe worth a try for a £5,00 plus postage and a bit of time

ps didnt see the bit about the saint is your best man hes had one in bits recently but for the misfire i would try that

Did you drop in the same type of engine as the thor and the gems have a different gearbox and the distance the flex plate is from the gearbox is different

even if its the same engine type you need to measure distance torque converter sits in and drive plate sits out and ensure you have a mm or 2 clearance to pull t/c up to drive plate, breaking auto pump isnt uncommon and a usual certainty if t/c not fitted in box fully before fitting box to engine
